Schoolly – and this release – are considered by many to be the genesis of gangster rap and were highly influential to all who followed. Schoolly was picked up by Jive Records in 1987, and an expanded version of Saturday Night: The Album was released. This album contains ten tracks of all killer no filler! All beats were made by Schoolly D and his legendary TR-909 drum machine. Ellensburg, Washington is known for the world’s 3rd largest three-day rodeo, 90’s NFL legends Brian Habib and Drew Bledsoe and as the hometown of seminal Northwest band Screaming Trees. In the late 80’s, Ellensburg residents were often confronted with the strangely primitive sounds of the band emanating from their headquarters in the back room of the Conner family’s Main Street store, New World Video. Here was the scene of creation of songs from the band’s early Velvetone and SST albums. During this prolific time, much of the band’s music never made it beyond their own ears but was fortunately captured on Gary Lee Conner’s 4 track cassette recorder. Those cassettes have survived, intact, down to this day and have now made their way to this recording. So now, transport yourself back to New World Video, in late 80’s Ellensburg, and hear the weird things happening.

Live in France: The 1966 Concert in Limoges is a previously unreleased live solo recording of “The Godmother of Rock n’ Roll," Sister Rosetta Tharpe, captured at the auditorium of the Grand Theatre in Limoges, France on November 11, 1966. This is an official release on producer Zev Feldman's new Deep Digs record label, in partnership with Elemental Music, and in cooperation with the Sister Rosetta Tharpe Estate and INA France. Transferred from the original tape reels, this recording was restored and mastered by multi-GRAMMY award-winning engineer Michael Graves at Osiris Studio, with lacquers cut by the legendary Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios. From the early days of Bob Marley and The Wailers (whose striking sharp-suited Rude Boy style appears on the front cover) through to the classic 1970s Jamaican films The Harder They Come and Rockers, Rude Boys have been synonymous with Jamaican Reggae culture.
This Jamaican Rude Boy anti-establishment attitude and stylish attire was later adopted by bands such as The Clash (in the film Rude Boy) as well as The Specials, Madness, Selector and others in the Two-Tone era that swept across the UK at the end of the 1970s.
The album features classic tracks from Studio One featuring Jamaica’s finest singers and groups such as The Wailers, John Holt, the Wailing Souls and Dennis Brown alongside super-rare hard-to-find tracks from artists such as Mr Foundation, Dudley Sibley and Jim Brown.

SRC was born out of a smashing up of two of Detroit’s brightest bands, The Fugitives and The Chosen Few (which also featured future Stooge Ron Asheton). The
new band gained a fanatic local following, eventually capturing the attention of Capitol Records.
On this record, the band shifts effortlessly from mountaintop introspection to wild distorted crescendos creating one of the most melodically heavy LPs ever made, an over-the-top psychedelic fuzz guitar masterpiece.
When it was released in the US in 1968, the LP created fan and critical excitement. Still, it was in the UK where the cultdom made its most significant impact, with John Peel playing the hell out of it on his radio show and even Genesis’ Peter Gabriel claiming that this first SRC album was one of his favorites, saying he “wore the record out” (and you can absolutely hear SRC’s melodies buried inside Gabriel’s musical DNA!).
This Record Store Day 2024 release was cut from the analog master tapes by Kevin Gray, in an All Analog Process (AAA).

Tad was a band that couldn't buy a break. Sued for album cover art by Pepsi (among others), dropped by a major label for showing Bill Clinton with a joint in his hand…and then right when Infrared Riding Hood came out, their A&R rep got canned along with all of her bands.

Live at the Academy NYC 12.4.92 is a board recording from the second of a two-night stand in New York City’s Times Square. Television had regrouped for their third studio album earlier in the year, and eight of the tracks from it are featured here along with three from Marquee Moon.
This show captured the potent guitar interplay between Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd and the band considered it worthy to to release as a tour-only CDr sold during their 2003 reunion concerts. The Doors Live at Konserthuset, Stockholm features a live radio broadcast from September 20, 1968 which has never before received an official release. The comprehensive set includes rare live performances of “Mack The Knife,” “Love Street,” and “You’re Lost Little Girl.” It’s a great sounding recording of a great performance of The Doors during their infamous 1968 European Tour with Jefferson Airplane.

The second of the English Beat's three albums expanded to include two sides of non-LP tracks and B-sides. Wha'ppen reflects the band's signature melange of musical styles and influences, shifting from a heavy reggae/ska/punk sound to a more eclectic sound that included African, steel drum, and dub influences for a wholly original sound.
