The One was Elton John’s first studio album of the 90s, and saw him capitalising on the enormous success of his first major CD retrospective, The Very Best Of, and his first solo UK No 1, Sacrifice in 1990. It was also his first album free from the addictions that had sometimes made his music seem secondary in the later 80s. As a result, it became his best-selling studio album since Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy in 1975. With guest appearances from Kiki Dee, Eric Clapton and David Gilmour, the album reached No 2 in the UK charts and remained in the listings for 18 weeks, thanks in part to the Top 10 single The One.

For this new remaster, the original running order, which was fitted onto two sides of a single album has been expanded out to an audiophile 180gm double set in a brand new gatefold sleeve.

Elton John’s 27^th studio album was originally released in 2004, and the only album in his extensive and much-loved catalogue to be produced solely by him alone. Taking in his love for R&B, country and Americana, it is a rootsy album, that continued the back-to-basics attitude of his preceding album Songs From The West Coast. It also marked the return of his legendary drummer Nigel Olsson, reunited with guitarist Davey Johnstone.

The vinyl edition of the LP, which was released briefly in 2005, is one of the most sought-after items in his career – a special edition, the first three sides comprise Peachtree Road while the fourth contained three tracks from the musical Billy Elliot, including Electricity, which reached the No 4 in the UK charts.

Regimental Sgt Zippo is the legendary ‘album that never was’ for Elton John. Signed to DJM as an artist in early 1968, he cut 12 tracks at DJM studios in London’s New Oxford Street, for a debut album. It is unclear as to why the album was never released, but a running order was allotted.

As part of the excavation of material for the Jewel Box, the original running order was located: after the success of its limited release in mono for Record Store Day in 2021, we are now offering an industry-wide release in stereo, mixed at Abbey Road with the customary care of Elton’s catalogue team. In addition to the previous release, this new LP edition comes with a printed inner bag with full lyrics. The CD edition contains both stereo and mono mixes.

Released in November 1995, Love Songs was Elton John’s second CD retrospective of the 90s and built on the enormous success of The Very Best Of, and his first solo UK No 1, Sacrifice in 1990. Collecting 18 of Elton’s best loved ballads, Love Songs reached No 4 in the UK charts and remained in the listings for 48 weeks.

The vinyl version of the release was extremely limited, as a result, copies change hands for three-figure sums. This 2022 edition is presented as an audiophile 180gm double set.

Buoyed up by the surprise success of Tiny Dancer as a result its appearance in Almost Famous, Elton John enjoyed artistic reinvigoration in the early 21^st century by returning to the sound and feel of his early solo albums. Released in September 2006, The Captain and The Kid followed the much-loved Songs From The West Coast and Peachtree Road; his 28^th solo album was a direct sequel to the 1975 album Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy.

Recorded in Atlanta, it picked up where it’s the original left off, and chronicled the lives of Elton and Bernie Taupin across the intervening years. Like its 1975 predecessor, the package  contains two booklets – Lyrics and Scraps

A Single Man was one of the most eagerly anticipated albums of Elton John’s career. Released two years since his last album, Blue Moves, the Elton John that greeted the world in 1978 cut a sombre, serious figure; working for the first time since 1970 without producer Gus Dudgeon and for the first time since 1967 with Bernie Taupin (the only original album in his career completely with him), A Single Man yielded two of Elton’s best loved hits, Part-Time Love and the poignant, almost-instrumental closer, Song For Guy.

Released in June 1984, Breaking Hearts consolidated the success of the previous year’s 2 Low 4 Zero, which had elevated Elton to the upper echelons of the world’s charts. Replicating the formula of the previous album, it was recorded at AIR Montserrat, with his core players Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson. It contains the much-loved single Sad Songs (Say So Much), Passengers and Who Wears These Shoes.

Victim Of Love was a sharp left turn in the storied career of Elton John. After the commercial success of A Single Man, Elton, no stranger to the dancefloor, decided in 1979, to embrace the disco boom and record Victim Of Love. Recorded with Pete Bellotte and Thor Baldursson – Giorgio Moroder’s right hand men – Victim Of Love is the only Elton John album in which he had no hand in writing or playing on. It has, of course, become a much loved cult album.

Released in May 1981, The Fox is much-loved by Elton’s aficionados. It can be seen as a transitional work from the experimentation of his turn of the decade records to his full creative rebirth two years later with Too Low For Zero. The Fox contains writing collaborations with Gary Osborne, Tom Robinson and Bernie Taupin. The following year, it became one of the first albums where every track had a specially made promotional film for it and was released as a long-form video.
