For the first time on vinyl, Ravi Shankar's 1997 collaboration with George Harrison! Recorded in the south Indian city of Chennai - then known as Madras - as well as Friar Park, Harrison's home in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, Chants of India marked a landmark departure for Shankar. Bomba Estéreo's new album 'Deja' is the band's long-awaited first album in 4 years. The album was mixed by Damian Taylor (Björk, Arcade Fire). 'Deja' is about leaving behind the unnecessary baggage in our lives and re-connecting with what is meaningful and essential - with the earth. It's about a hope for our future and finding a better balance between technology and the natural world. In the middle of the pandemic, Bomba and a community of collaborators got together in a Caribbean beach house in Santa Marta. Where the Sierra Nevada mountains meet the sea, they let it all go and recorded the album. For 'Deja,' Simón and Li wanted to make the album more of a “community” effort. Simon found increasing chemistry playing live shows with guitarist José Castillo and the folkloric percussion of Efrain “Pacho” Cuadrado. Li recruited her longtime friend Lido Pimienta and the Afro Cuban duo OKAN for the session.

Divas have a very special presence in the history of Korean popular music.

Kim Choo-ja, the most famous singer of the "Team Shin Jung-hyeon" that opened a new paradigm for psychedelic rock and soul in the late 1960s, presented radical and sensual charisma like Janis Joplin and Betty Davis. Kim Wan-sun led the age of the new wave K-Pop in the 80s and brought new wave rock and synthpop into the mainstream, opening a new era of never-before-seen dance music. The emergence of Uhm Jung Hwa led to even more trendy visuals and sensual music in the 90s, Lee Hyori brought authentic hip-hop and R&B into the mainstream, and BoA changed the paradigm for K-Pop by taking a leap as a global pop star. All divas deserve to be remembered as historical events that created turning points of the ages.

So who is the diva that will carry on this legacy in the current K-Pop scene? Seldomly occurring in the idol market that has been reestablished in group units over the past few years, CHUNG HA rose as a performer to capture the public's heart with her explosive energy, while making a name for herself as a solo vocalist with a captivating voice, proving her own potential with her career.
